Throughout history, the Horse has been an embodiment of strength, freedom, and especially perseverance. There is a common Eastern saying: "It is only on a long road that one truly knows a good horse," a testament that a man's true character is only revealed through the test of time.

In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a mythical creature associated with the image of powerful, pure white eagle wings. Pegasus' birth was extraordinary as it sprang from Medusa's blood. This signifies that even from the most violent moments, extraordinary power can still emerge.
Pegasus was not like ordinary horses that only ran on dusty ground. With its widespread wings, it could freely soar through the sky and fly straight to Mount Olympus where the gods resided. In the minds of many, Pegasus is a symbol of sharp intellect and an unlimited desire for freedom.
Vietnamese Culture: Thanh Giong's Iron Horse

Returning to Vietnamese culture, we cannot ignore the image of Phu Dong Thien Vuong's Iron Horse. This is an immortal symbol representing the resilient spirit and inherent strength of the nation. Unlike the mythical horses in Western mythology, Saint Giong's Iron Horse is the only warhorse born of fire and iron, fulfilling the wish of a young hero.
The most special aspect of the Iron Horse is its deep connection to the daily lives of the people. It grew up from rice grains contributed by villagers, embodying a simple yet immensely powerful strength. When invaders arrived, this iron horse surged forward, breathing fire, and charged into battle with unwavering determination.
East Asian and Vietnamese Culture: Long Ma (Dragon Horse)

In East Asian cultures, particularly in Vietnam, the Long Ma (Dragon Horse) is a very familiar and deeply meaningful figure. It is a unique combination of a Dragon's head and a Horse's body. This image symbolizes the fusion of the supreme power of the heavens and the loyalty and endurance of the earth. While the Dragon brings intense spiritual power, the Horse represents resilience and the ability to conquer long journeys.
In Vietnam, you can often find the image of Long Ma prominently displayed at temple and pagoda gates or on screens in the Hue imperial palace. Long Ma in Vietnamese culture is often depicted gliding over water, with the Bagua or a scroll on its back. People in ancient times believed that placing a Long Ma figure in front of a building was not just for decoration but also to ward off evil spirits, protect peace, and bring good fortune to the land.
Legend has it that Long Ma once appeared on the Yellow River, carrying the Ha Tu (River Map) on its back, helping people understand the laws of the universe. Because it is associated with tales of peace and prosperity, Long Ma in daily life is always considered a symbol of advancement and success.
