Helios Deck

The Story of Craftsmanship

The Ngọ deck is constructed as a series of stories, in which each horse figure is a separate piece of a puzzle; while their roles and meanings differ, they all share the same spirit of “a word spoken cannot be taken back” — once a card has been played, it cannot be withdrawn.

Ace – Pegasus
Pegasus, the winged horse, opens the deck with an image of origin and freedom. This is the moment of daring to leave the ground to take flight, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey where one steps out of familiar limits to head toward a vast, open sky.

2 – Balius & Xanthus
Achilles’ pair of immortal horses represents partnership and loyalty. The number 2 card emphasizes the strength of walking together – when two entities are in sync, the journey becomes more stable and enduring.

3 – Saint Giong’s Iron Horse
The iron horse is a symbol of explosive inner strength. Forged in fire and iron, this figure speaks of power born in a decisive moment, when the will is awakened to face and overcome danger.

4 – The Four Horses of Helios
The four steeds Pyrois, Aeos, Aethon, and Phlegon pulling the sun chariot represent light and the rhythm of the universe. This is a card of order, law, and constant motion – and is the primary figure associated with the Helios spirit.

5 – Mã Đáo Thành Công (Victory of the Horse)
The 5th horse is positioned moving in the opposite direction, symbolizing creative thinking and strategy. Success does not come from following the beaten path, but from the ability to change course at the right time.

6 – Two-Tailed Crimson Warhorse
The Two-Tailed Crimson horse is linked to wealth and prosperity. The two tails symbolize overcoming challenges to achieve fulfillment, where strength and luck go hand in hand.

7 – Horsehead Nebula
The image of a horse in the cosmos opens up a space of dreams and far-reaching vision. The number 7 card represents the desire to surpass the limits of the physical world, moving toward unexplored possibilities.

8 – Odin’s Eight-Legged Horse
Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse of Odin, symbolizes supremacy and the ability to traverse all realms. This is power that transcends time and space, unbound by ordinary boundaries.

9 – The Nine-Maned Horse
The nine-maned horse is a treasure associated with victory. This figure speaks of the reward deserved after a challenge, when strength and righteousness are recognized.

10 – The Knight in Chess
The horse in chess represents strategy and flexibility. The knight’s unique movement emphasizes intellect, the ability to turn the tide, and the capacity to see moves that others miss.

Jack – The Trojan Horse
The wooden horse is a symbol of tactics and cunning. This card speaks of the power of the mind, where victory is achieved not by brute force but by wise calculation.

Queen – Unicorn
The Unicorn represents purity and nobility. This is a figure of spiritual quality, of beauty and clarity amidst a turbulent world.

King – Long Ma (Dragon-Horse)
The Long Ma stands at the supreme position, symbolizing power, glory, and eternity. It is a combination of the dragon’s intellect and the horse’s endurance – power in a state of balance.

Joker – Rocking Horse
The rocking horse closes the deck with a spirit of rebellion and wit. The Joker reminds us that in every journey, freedom and spontaneity are always necessary to keep the movement from becoming rigid.
